Attorney C. Joseph Holland
Joe Holland received his B.A and J.D.(with high honors) from the University of Iowa. He has been admitted to practice in the Courts of Iowa and the two Federal District Courts in Iowa since 1977. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Iowa State Bar Association, a Life Fellow of both, and served on the Board of Governors 1994-98 and as President of the Iowa State Bar Association in 2001-02. Joe served on the Executive Council of the National Conference of Bar Presidents 2003-06 and is a Sustaining Member of NCBP.
Joe has been recognized as an AV rated Attorney by Martindale Hubbell since 2003 and in Best Lawyers in America — Real Estate Law since 2006. He is a member of Law Practice Management; Real Property, Probate and Trust Law; and General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Sections of the American and Iowa State Bar Associations. He served as Chair of the Johnson County Land Use Plan Committee in 2006-2008 and on the Johnson County Sensitive Areas Ordinance & Conservation Design Subdivision Study Committee from 1998-2000.
He has been a member of the Iowa Council of School Board Attorneys since 1980, Executive Committee since 2002, and chaired that Committee 2004-05. He is also a member of the National Council of School Attorneys.
He was on the Board of the Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Johnson County from 1996-99, served on the Johnson County Historic Preservation Commission from 1995-98, on the Board of the Northside Marketplace Association 1996-2001, and on the Board of the Iowa City Downtown Association from 1988-92.
He has spoken at numerous professional meetings and continuing education events, as well as to other professional and community groups.
